Since being installed on January 20th, Mr. Biden has ruthlessly governed by executive order, signing a flurry of directives, tripling the number of executive orders his predecessors had at this same point in their presidencies.  One of the more egregious executive orders is Biden’s reckless rollback of a number of common-sense immigration reforms enacted under the prudent path established by the Trump Administration. All nations protect their sovereignty and borders, and President Trump enacted common sense reforms to ensure the integrity of our borders and the safety of the people. Unfortunately, Biden has reverted to the failed Obama policies of open borders—open for crime, open for drugs, open for human trafficking and open to harm every town in America.

Previously, Biden implied that President Trump was a “dictator” when an executive order was signed.  Even orders that implement federal law, which is how Executive Orders are supposed to be used. Biden stated in 2020, regarding executive orders for taxes, “Well, if you can’t get the votes, by executive order you’re going to do something.’ Things you can’t do by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus.”  Contrary to his false promises, Biden has issued a record number of Executive Orders many contrary to federal law, raising the question by his own definition if he thinks he is a dictator.  Some pundits say yes, and even the far-left propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, the New York Times, admonished Biden in a headline reading “Ease Up on the Executive Actions, Joe.

At his installation party, Biden stated “Without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness and fury. No progress, only exhausting outrage. No nation, only a state of chaos.”   Rather than a call for harmony, it appears this was a statement of policy.  Signing executive orders is not a sign of unity or bipartisanship. Within weeks of his installation Biden has betrayed his own lofty rhetoric.

One of the first orders is the most dangerous.  Biden used executive orders to halt border wall construction.  Not content with allowing criminals free reign, and giving hope to millions of illegal aliens to come here illegally and take jobs from real Americans and keep wages low, Biden then transferred money for illegal sanctuary cities that ignore law enforcement.  Within our borders illegal sanctuary cities give aid and comfort to criminals at the expense of taxpaying Americans.  Biden has chosen to support criminals over taxpayers.  Gangs over families.  Drug dealers over neighborhoods.  He also sent legislation to Congress that would give amnesty to the more than 15 million illegal immigrants already in our country making them eligible for citizenship and countless social programs at a heavy cost to our hardworking, taxpaying citizens.  This open border policy is dangerous, and suicidal for a country with a broad welfare net like ours.  The financial ramifications will be disastrous.   The resulting low wages, crime and social division will breed the “state of chaos” Biden promised in his policy statement.

I strongly oppose Biden’s ill-conceived immigration legislation and his efforts to weaken the strong America First immigration policies re-established by President Trump.  Keep in mind, Congress has passed strong immigration and border laws.   It was Obama, and now Biden, who undermine these laws with authoritarian orders.   There has not been any vote in Congress to open the borders.  Yet he proceeds.  Unfortunately, Biden’s executive actions will only serve to incentivize illegal border crossings, weaken our fragile job market, and strain social programs that are designed to offer a hand up to our citizens needing them most.

Illegal immigrants should never be granted amnesty or be allowed to jump in front of those who have gone through the legal process to enjoy American freedoms.  So much for Biden’s calls for bipartisanship.  Like me, most Americans oppose amnesty and open borders.  I will continue to speak out and oppose these concerning policies every step of the way.
