60 Minutes Stands by Deceptively Edited DeSantis/Publix Report

The network’s official response blamed the DeSantis camp for their journalist failure

After being busted for what was undoubtedly a misinformation campaign against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, CBS/60 Minutes is standing by their reporting.

Tuesday, the network’s official response blamed the DeSantis camp for their journalist failure. Even Miami’s Democrat Mayor called the report “intentionally false.”

See here:

And DeSantis had some thoughts about the whole ordeal, too:

Methinks 60 Minutes doth protest too much.

CBS also stood behind Dan Rather
At least they are consistent

The words “deceptively edited” are way too gentle for the CBS crowd..

I note that CBS doesn’t even address the fact that they doctored the recording of Governor DeSantis giving the CBS reporter chapter and verse about how Publix’s involvement in the vaccine program came about to make it seem that the governor didn’t give a complete answer. Nor did they address the Palm Beach County Mayor Kerner’s statement that he also told 60 Minutes something much, much different than the story they reported. No, they didn’t refute any of the allegations MADE AGAINST 60 MINUTES at all.

Governor DeSantis is going to call CBS out regularly for their lie and he’s not going to let up. Good for him.

Wait, it’s 60 Minutes, a bastion of journalism at its finest. That accusation can’t possibly be right. /sarc

Publix is a company that is beloved by many, it has been in business for about 90 years. They worked very hard to earn their reputation and go to great lenghths to protect it. Painting them in some sort of bad light is a battle CBS won’t win, there are millions on either side of the aisle who have and will rally behind them.
Trying to bring down DeSantis is tough enough on its own, trying to implicate Publix is a total failure on the part of CBS. The political class in Florida know that bad mouthing Publix is a PR disaster.

It’s unfortunate that politicians can’t sue media companies for hit jobs except in the most egregious circumstances. It’s a slippery slope I’d like to leave untouched.
Publix, on the other hand, is a publicly traded corporation. And if a slanderous news story by some irresponsible hacks adversely affects their image and stock, they are perfectly free to pursue legal action.

Publix is not a pubicly owned company, it is basically George family and employee owned. Only current and former employees own the stock

That is likely the reason they are as good as they are. They aren’t just another line on a spreadsheet for some hedge fund.

We have a Publix going up here in town, and people are really eager for it to open. They will kill the closest competitor, which is a Kroger. This Kroger is far more crappy than most Kroger stores, and that is saying a lot.

Yes if Publix can show that they’ve been hurt by this story then they should have grounds to sue 60 Minutes for malicious slander of their company.

George Jenkins family

There are many people in North Korea believe the b.s. about Kim Jun Il winning the 100 meter dash at the 2016 Olympics. Especially the ones on his payroll.

Thus, CBS.

We have options of Publix and Walmart for grocery shopping. We go to Walmart when we have no choice, Publix whenever we can. Yes, the prices can be a little higher depending on what you buy, but most people are willing to pay a little more for better quality overall. It’s called perceived value.

Somebody needs to tell CBS, “When thou findest thyself in a hole, thou shouldst cease digging.”

Noticed something during the video clip of DeSantis. See the hand gestures: is he copying that from Trump or has he been doing this for a while now on his own? Regardless it does help convey the points he’s making in the clip.

I’m not gay, but if I’m ever forced at gun point to pick a guy, I’m going with DeSantis.

DeSantis broke CBS’s algorithm LOL.

CBS is NOT news. It is agitprop. Pretty much, most of the media are propagandists for a liberal tyranny. When the time comes, they will be recognized for the useful idiots they are, Then they will be disposed of.
