A ball girl at the Australian Open is said to be “recovering” after collapsing on the court during a match. The two singles players raced to her aid. Spain’s Pedro Martinez and Federico Delbonis of Argentina had been playing a first-round match on Court 17 at Melbourne Park when the ball girl suddenly fainted.

Both players stayed with her until help arrived. The girl was checked by tournament medical staff and a dedicated nurse before being taken away by her parents. The temperatures in Melbourne were mild on Monday, with a high of 25 degrees Celsius. Despite that, some sources tried to blame the “heat“.

In the early stages of myocarditis, shortness of breath and chest pain are quite common. When children develop myocarditis, they often faint, suffer from unexplained chest pain and shortness of breath.

The Australian Open is getting the attention it deserves after a massive international controversy sparked by Australian judges who ruled against the participation of Novak Djokovic. He was denied an Australian visa because he would not divulge his vaccination status.

Already three tennis players involved in the qualifying rounds of the Australian Open have had to withdraw due to “breathing difficulties”. All the tennis players and staff currently participating in the professional tennis tournament have been fully vaccinated. The world number 22 was was seen leaving the court while clutching his chest with respiratory difficulties in an ATP match. Nikoloz Basilashvili told his team that “every shot I’m out of breath”.

Players Dalila Jakupovic and Nick Kyrgios also had to withdraw from the qualifying tournament for the same reasons.
