Some acts of Capitol Hill vandalism carried out by government employees are worse than others apparently.

The latest revelation came Monday when Just the News divulged that Capitol Police caught Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Jake Auchincloss’s chief of staff on security footage defacing posters outside the Capitol complex office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene this spring. The police referred the aide, Timothy Hysom, for criminal charges, but the same U.S. Attorney’s office that pursued the Jan. 6 defendants declined to approve an arrest warrant, according to documents and interviews. Marjorie Taylor Greene included documentation related to the assault on her office in a Twitter thread

In a separate Twitter thread, Greene alleges a pattern of harassment against her from Rep Jake Auchincloss and his chief of staff who allegedly vandalized MTG’s office.

These allegations are especially interesting in light of recent reports that staffers for Stephen Colbert’s late show were detained by Capitol Police for illegally trespassing on Capitol grounds. Greene alleges that Rep Auchincloss and his Chief of Staff Hysom assisted Colbert’s crew’s illegal entry into the Capitol in order to target her and other GOP representatives
