Three days after a San Antonio police officer shot a teen after allegedly being struck by his vehicle on the city’s Northside, the San Antonio Police Department has terminated the officer’s employment, according to an SAPD news release. The driver of the vehicle, 17, was charged with evading detention and assault on a police officer.
Following a review of the shooting that occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, SAPD announced the termination of probationary police officer James Brennand, according to the release posted on Wednesday, October 5. Brennand was serving on the force for seven months before the incident on Sunday.
According to the narrated video below, the officer violated department policies and procedure.
