Judge Tells Michigan Murderer He Should’ve Killed Himself During Sentencing

A Michigan judge strongly admonished a killer who committed a heinous crime by murdering a news radio anchor and subjecting the victim's young children to a violent attack last year. The judge expressed that the perpetrator should have chosen to end his own life instead of causing destruction and suffering for the entire family.

Arthur Williams, aged 55, received this scathing reprimand just before the judge handed down a life sentence for the murder of Jim Matthews and the assault on his family in the vicinity of Detroit in September of the previous year.

From New York Post

“You’re a pedophile, you’re a murderer and you’re the embodiment of evil,” Macomb County Circuit Court Judge James Biernat said, according to The Detroit News.

“The only thing that’s amazing is you didn’t kill all of them.”

Williamson had pleaded no contest to fatally stabbing and bludgeoning Matthews with a hammer and to assaulting his two children — ages 5 and 10 — and long-time girlfriend during the rampage.

The killer then tried to take his own life by overdosing.

“Try to commit suicide before you do any of this,” the judge told him. “Take yourself out so you don’t kill people and try to rape 5-year-olds.”

Indeed, some may perceive the judge's statement as harsh, but it is difficult to deny the accuracy of his assessment.

The individual in question appears to exhibit truly monstrous behavior, and one could argue that society would benefit from his permanent removal to prevent him from potentially terrorizing more innocent families.
