Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested earlier today after being sentenced to three years in prison for allegedly selling state gifts.

Al Jazeera:

Police have arrested Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan in the eastern city of Lahore after a court sentenced him to three years in prison for illegally selling state gifts.

The 70-year-old cricketer-turned-politician was accused of misusing his premiership from 2018 to 2022 to buy and sell gifts in state possession that were received during visits abroad and worth more than 140 million Pakistani rupees ($497,500).

Like Trump, Khan is a beloved and overwhelmingly popular leader in Pakistan who was deposed from power by the Pakistani deep state, which has buried him in over 130 phony indictments to prevent him from obtaining office again. The plot against Khan goes well beyond the borders of Pakistan, however. In one of Khan’s last two international interviews before his arrest, Revolver News’ Darren Beattie discussed with Khan the likely role of Biden Administration officials, in particular notorious color revolution professional Victoria Nuland, in his ouster.

President Trump, with whom Khan got along very well, has called out Victoria Nuland directly for her illegal involvement in disastrous regime change operations:

While Nuland works for Democrat administrations, her husband Robert Kagan is one of the intellectual architects of the Iraq War, and was close with the George W. Bush Administration. Indeed, the biparistan Nuland-Kagan marriage perfectly recapitulates the problem with the Washington Uniparty that Trump so profoundly disrupted in 2016.

The fate of the beloved populist leader Khan is just another example of how malicious, corrupt, and stupid swamp creatures in Washington have made us less respected and less admired throughout the world.

We are praying for Khan and for Pakistan, and are following this developing story closely.
