• Rami Malek will appear as the villain in No Time To Die.
  • No Time To Die will be Daniel Craig's fifth appearance as James Bond.
  • Malek described an experience where the two kissed, and he questioned his own 'Bond Girl' status.

There aren't a lot of people who can call themselves a 'Bond Girl.' In the 24 existing movies in the James Bond canon, only the likes of Jane Seymour, Denise Richards, and Halle Berry (among others) hold the distinction. After an experience on-set filming the series' 25th movie, No Time To Die, Rami Malek says that his might be the latest name to add to the list.

Malek, who's playing the movie's villain, relayed a story during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that found him planning a scene with the man he says is his "favorite Bond," Daniel Craig. Working through a complicated scene with Craig and the movie's director, Cary Fukunaga, Malek said that eventually they figured something out, and Craig picked him up.

"I can't tell if I initiated the next moment, if it was him or I—but, a kiss transpired between the two of us," he said. "I'm going to say that Daniel initiated it and I was very taken aback…I took a moment, caught my breath, and I looked out and said, so, does this make me a Bond Girl?"

The winner of last year's Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Bohemian Rhapsody, Malek was on the show to promote his USA series Mr. Robot, for which he's also won an Emmy for Best Actor, return for its final season this week.

No Time To Die will be Craig's last movie as James Bond. Before he faced off against the man who last year played Freddie Mercury, Craig has taken on a mixed bag of villains, including Mads Mikkelson (Casino Royale), Mathieu Amalric (Quantum of Solace), Javier Bardem (Skyfall), and Christoph Waltz (Spectre).

We'll have to wait until No Time To Die drops next April to see if the kiss makes the final cut.
