"What's the runway?," George Hotz asks @elonmusk on Twitter Spaces. Silence. . . . some doofus jumps in to fill silence with garbage question. Come on, dude.
Twitter was tracking to spend $5bn next year, says Elon. Also, because of debt on transaction, $1.5bn debt servicing required. With revenue tracking to $3bn. "So that's like a negative cash flow situation of -$3bn next year. Not good."
"That is why I spent the last five weeks cutting costs like crazy."
I obviously get that some people are upset about @elonmusk's recent comments regarding Ukraine. But the DoD complaining about paying for Starlink strikes me as nuts. The DoD has been salivating over the idea of "responsive space" for decades
The DoD helped fund the Falcon 1 on the hopes that a company would come along that could chuck a rocket and then satellite into orbit on a moment's notice during a war.
It just so happens that SpaceX outpaced the DoD's wildest dreams and has now put up thousands of satellites that happen to be extremely useful during a war. If SpaceX were selling weapons, the DoD would be falling over itself to give SpaceX money
