McDonald's agree to take down 'McCrispy' advertising billboard that was erected next to sign for local crematorium

McDonald's have agreed to take down a 'McCrispy' advertising billboard that was put up next to a road sign for a local crematorium.
Although some found the advertisement hilarious, others were less than impressed to find it featured on a bus stop opposite Penmount Crematorium on a road in Truro, Cornwall.
The brightly-coloured billboard featuring the signature McCrispy sparked a large amount of online controversy as it gathered a mixed reaction from motorists on the A39.
The poster positioned behind the sign pointing to the crematorium was labelled as 'tasteless' by angry locals.
One woman, whose mother-in-law was cremated at the establishment last year, said: 'Although I can see the funny side, it is tasteless and I'm sure some grieving family members won't like to see it when visiting Penmount for the funeral and cremation of a loved one.'

Another person claimed that that 'how funny it is will probably depend on how long ago you followed the crematorium sign wearing a black tie.'
However, there were others who found the positioning of the advert hilarious, as one person said: 'Fell off the chair laughing.'
Another individual could not help but make the classic pun 'I'm lovin' it' - McDonal's well-known slogan.
Following the controversy sparked by the advertisement, McDonald's has now said it will remove the sign.
McDonald's have urged the public that they are taking the serious matter into consideration.
A spokesperson for the company said: 'We were unaware of the road sign in the vicinity of this bus stop. However, in light of the concerns raised by CornwallLive, we have asked for our advertisement to be removed.'
Cornwall Council, which runs the crematorium and owns the bus shelter, said it was unable to comment on the matter.
Speculations have been made in the local area that the McCrispy billboard will be replaced with fast-foof giants Burger King's flame-grilled Whopper, however, these claims have not been confirmed.
