LONDON, UK – A teenager who sparked outrage on social media after filming himself committing crimes as a “prank” has been arrested by the London Metropolitan Police.

In a press release issued on May 22, the Met confirms they had arrested Bacari “Mizzy” Ogarro on suspicion of causing a public nuisance in connection with his TikTok “prank” videos.

According to the release, “The arrest follows an investigation into social media footage which featured a number of incidents, including apparently unsolicited approaches made towards members of the public in the street or on transport, and entering addresses without the apparent permission of the owners.”

Ogarro, 18, rose to infamy this past week after a video of him entering a family’s home went viral on TikTok and Twitter. The 50-second clip showed Ogarro approaching a gated house in London where a woman was sweeping in the front yard.

Ogarro passed the woman and went straight for the front door, which was slightly ajar. He then entered the house and proceeded to sit down in the family’s living room.

The video sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning Ogarro for the act.

But it was quickly learned that Ogarro had multiple videos in which he performed similarly disturbing stunts, labeling the often criminal videos as “pranks.”

In another, Ogarro walked up to three young women who were waiting for the subway at the Stoke Newington station and asked them, “do you want to die?”

When one of the girl’s phones rang, Ogarro demanded she not answer, saying, “He can wait. I can take you out right now,” insinuating he was going to commit a violent act against her.

In yet another viral Twitter video, Ogarro approached an older woman in a “prank” where he pretended she was his mother.

The woman became visibly distressed and upset by Ogarro’s continuous pestering, quickly wielding her umbrella as a self-defense weapon in response to what she clearly perceived was a threat.

Some of Ogarro’s other “prank” TikToks include stealing a woman’s dog and entering random people’s cars without consent. In January, Ogarro was briefly arrested after assaulting a Jewish man while livestreaming.

Just prior to his most recent capture by the Met police, Ogarro’s TikTok account was suspended in response to continued backlash over his actions. He suggested this was racially motivated.

“I’m a Black male doing these things and that’s why there’s such an uproar on the Internet,” Ogarro told the Independent in an interview.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway of the Central East Command Unit weighed in on the matter.

“I do not underestimate the widespread upset, distress and concern that these videos caused,” he said. “Some people have referred to these as ‘prank’ videos, but I hope that this significant development demonstrates just how seriously we have been taking this investigation since this footage began circulating online.”

Shortly before being taken into police custody, Ogarro and his friends posted several videos while they waited in the police station. In two clips, Ogarro says, “keep the movement going” and “share the message.”

Since his arrest, fans of the TikToker reportedly trashed and looted a JD Sports store in protest.

This was also filmed and posted online.
