Highlights first… Musk reiterates his vision for free speech “within the context of the law.” He believes Twitter has the potential to 10x its users.

Full call… Musk wants a digital town square where people can directly access information without the media filter.  Twitter could be as big in the west as WeChat is in China, where virtually everyone has the app.

What is troubling is that he seems to support throttling of offensive speech. He uses the left-wing trope “freedom of speech vs freedom of reach.” So you can say what you want, but if the mods deem you a wrongthinker nobody will hear you.

Musk obviously wants this deal to go through. Let’s hope it does, and that he resists shadow bans and restores the spirit of the old internet.
