Lenny Kravitz calls himself a “devout Christian,” and says his relationship with Jesus Christ began one day when he experienced a spiritual moment with God that actually brought him to tears.
After that day, he’d never be the same.
American rock singer-songwriter, Lenny Kravitz is a devout Christian and his spirituality transcends not only in the spiritual themes of his music but also in his personal life.
At a young age, he felt the “presence of God” when he was a member of the prestigious California Boys Choir. In an interview on “Oprah’s Master Class: Belief Special,” Kravitz talked in a detail about the memorable encounter.
Lenny’s life path would change dramatically after a magical encounter with a young stranger in the infirmary.
At the time, Kravitz and the other choir members followed a rigorous practice schedule, training all day and night. The training eventually took a toll on his body.
“I got sick. I had the flu and I got sent to this infirmary where this other kid was,” Kravitz said. “He and I were in this room together for days, getting checked on and getting better.”
Around this time, the boy and Kravitz struck up a profound conversation.
“He’s like, ‘Do you know about Jesus Christ?’” Kravitz said. “I said, ‘Well, I’ve heard of him, but what?’
This young boy was clearly put in Lenny’s path for a reason.
“He starts telling me all about Christ and all this scripture and things, just talking to me and reading to me,” Kravitz continued. “It’s quite interesting because you have these two young boys just sitting there talking and having this great conversation about God and love and Christ.”
Kravitz was moved by the discussion with his fellow choir member. He didn’t know how that conversation would profoundly change his life.
“I can’t explain it to you, but the presence of God was in the room,” Kravitz said. “I’m talking about something really heavy and thick, and the two of us felt it. It was something that just kind of came over us. We were both crying because whatever this presence was, was so overwhelming that it just hit you in your spirit… We were having an experience with God.”
That moment solidified Kravitz’s belief that God is truly everywhere.

It’s a shame more actors in Hollywood don’t speak out freely regarding their faith and love of God and Jesus Christ.
Sadly, that kind of faith-based lifestyle if frowned on by Hollywood elites, who appear to be more comfortable worshipping Satan, than God.
But Lenny’s story is a wonderful Easter reminder of the power of Christ, and how faith can find you even at the strangest moments if you leave your heart open.
