Hollywood police have responded to reports of multiple people shot Monday afternoon.

CBS News Miami has learned 9 people were transported to area hospitals, 5 were taken into custody and 1 person is possibly still at large in the 1200 block of N. Broadwalk or near the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.

At least 3 of those shooting victims were minors, according to reports from the scene.

A number of videos have surfaced of the shooting and its aftermath. We pray for the victims and will continue to cover this developing story.

We have the inside scoop on what triggered the gunfire. It appears that it started due to a disagreement between two men.

Four children, including a 1-year-old, were among nine people shot and wounded when gunfire erupted near a popular Florida beach packed with Memorial Day revelers, authorities said.

Gunfire erupted after two groups of men got into an altercation on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, according to police and a witness.

Jamie Ward, who was on the Broadwalk, said several men were fighting in front of a row of stores when one pulled out a gun.

Some of the gunshot victims were caught in the crossfire, according to Hollywood police.

According to the police, out of the nine people who were injured, including a 1-year-old child, eight are in stable condition, while one person is currently undergoing surgery.

After receiving reports of gunshots fired at approximately 6:45 p.m., police officers and emergency responders promptly provided assistance to the wounded individuals.
