Retail giant Best Buy is facing growing backlash over a memo that shows the company is racist against white people. The backlash started thanks to a brave Best Buy whistleblower who contacted journalist James O’Keefe and showed him documents from a professional development program that unveils the company’s policy of excluding Caucasian people from applying for their leadership training.

Many people quickly drew parallels between Best Buy and Bud Light, speculating about another potential boycott.

SK Pop:

O’Keefe Media was the first to publicize the viral memo on August 9, 2023. They attached two pictures alongside the tweet that showcased Best Buy’s note to its employees. In the same, the company announced that they were collaborating with McKinsey & Company to offer a three-month Leadership Essentials program. Speaking about the program, the memo noted:

“Participants will gain critical skills that will enhance their leadership through a mini-MBA style curriculum. Topics will include Strategy Development, Critical Thinking, Networking and Problem Solving.”

Those who wished to apply to the program had to meet the following criteria: must be a salaried Best Buy employee, must have work experience of more than one year in their current Best But role, and also:

“Identify as Black, Latino, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander”

As one can see, Best Buy was allegedly not allowing Caucasian employees to participate in the program.

Things took another heated turn for Best Buy when a second whistleblower came forward and claimed that Best Buy is also discriminating against Christianity. I think it’s easy to see the pattern forming here. This is an attack on whiteness from skin color to religion.

Instead of addressing the issue, the store called the police on James and he was forced to leave. However, the saga didn’t end there. In yet another unsettling story, a Best Buy in Downingtown, Pennsylvania appears to be treating the “trans flag” on par with a branch of the U.S. military. An outraged customer snapped a photo of the trans flag displayed alongside the US military flags and shared it with popular activist account Libs of TikTok. The post quickly blew up.

And we’re discovering that this “woke” behavior isn’t new territory for Best Buy. This photo is from 2022, in a Best Buy in a small Texas town.

In the Texas trans flag case, the intense customer backlash prompted Best Buy to remove the display. However, that action hasn’t resolved the company’s “woke” dilemma. Clearly, Best Buy is a highly progressive company, who appears to treat whiteness and Christianity as if they were the Black Plague, while feverishly embracing the LGBTQ+++ religion. Not only is Best Buy celebrating the LGBTQ+++ with shrines and flags, but also teaching it in their mandatory training program. It’s worth considering this the next time you’re about to spend your hard-earned money on electronics.
