Americans have grown weary of the establishment’s “forever wars.” Death, destructions, and occupation has become a career path for many of these military industrial complex ghouls.

But that’s not the “America First” way. We can’t better ourselves as a nation when our men and women are dying in foreign lands in order to make politicians and their donors richer.

That’s why Congressman Matt Gaetz proposed we withdraw the approximately 900 troops stationed in Syria.

To his credit, Matt was able to bring together a surprisingly bipartisan group in order to “fight” this ant-war crusade.

And even though the measure didn’t pass, it’s definitely a good start.

Defense News:

The House voted 103-321 on Wednesday against pulling U.S. troops out of Syria, rejecting a war powers resolution to do so introduced by Rep. Matt Gaetz.

The Republican from Florida used expedited procedures laid out under the War Powers Act to force a floor vote on the bill, which would have required the Biden administration to withdraw the approximately 900 troops stationed in Syria within six months. Democrats from the Congressional Progressive Caucus joined libertarian and America First-aligned Republicans in rallying behind the Gaetz resolution but fell short of the votes needed to pass it amid opposition from leaders in both parties.

Congressman Thomas Massie took to Twitter, where he thanked Matt for his dedication and touted the number of votes he managed to get for the proposed resolution.

Mr. Massie also shared the roll call so you can see for yourself how your rep voted.

In addition, Massive also shared the powerful House floor speech Gaetz delivered on behalf of his resolution.

Here’s what Matt said: “We must end the war in Syria and bring our troops home. I do not believe what stands between a caliphate and not a caliphate are the 900 Americans who have been sent to this hellscape with no definition of victory, no clear objective, and purely existing as a vestige to the regime-change, failed foreign policies of multiple former presidents.”

Matt is and always has been a true firebrand and stalwart for America First foreign policy, and a thorn in the side of the special interests clamoring to expend American blood and teaser for no discernible national security purpose. God bless him for it.
